Zizou's Volley

Zinedine Zidane's volley is one of the most iconic goals in football history, scored on May 15, 2002, during the UEFA Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen at Hampden Park. Zizou connected with a high pass, delivering a precise and powerful left-footed volley into the top corner, securing Real Madrid's ninth European Cup.

The goal arrived in the 45th minute, following a high cross from Roberto Carlos, Zidane pivoted and struck the ball mid-air with his left leg (his weaker foot) from the edge of the area.  It was described as "a goal for the ages" by the newspaper Marca and voted by fans as the greatest goal in Real Madrid's history.

It is considered by many as the most beautiful goal in the competition's history, reflecting Zidane's technical genius in high-pressure moments. The goal not only gave Madrid the lead before halftime but also consolidated Zidane's legacy as one of the greatest players of his generation.
