One of the most impactant matches in club football history, River Plate and Boca Juniors faced each other in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid for the 2nd leg of the Libertadores club final. A match decided in extra time with all the epic significance of a Superfinal.

When Boca goalkeeper Esteban Andrada joined the attack for a corner, River successfully defended and triggered a 120th-minute fast break. Pity Martínez was assisted by Quintero to run the length of the pitch and score into an empty net, sealing the 3–1 victory.
